When I first played The Witcher in it was already laughably dated. Compared to The Witcher 3, which I was preparing to play on its launch day, The Witcher was a relic of the past, with naturally less detailed character models, a frustratingly capricious interface, and interesting but clunky combat. The most dated aspect of all, though was its approach to sexuality. Geralt's sexual pursuits are easily a shoe-in for "most improved" between The Witcher of and The Wild Hunt of I quickly took to calling Geralt the James Bond of fantasy. He's one of only a few of his kind with a specialized set of skills.

Romance cards also called sexcards within The Witcher are a trophy of sorts which can be collected over the course of the game. Whenever Geralt sleeps with a female character or NPC in the game, you collect a romance card. These cards are reminiscent of early 20th century novelty "naughty" postcards. Each card is initially presented during a "romantic cut scene".

THE Witcher viewers slammed the "gratuitous" sex scenes as bosses are accused of double standards with the "excessive" female nudity. Netflix's fantasy epic has received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike but one main criticism is the show's focus on nudity. While there are no shortage of naked women in the show, fans have pointed out that Geralt - played by Superman actor Henry Cavill - has his clothes on throughout. One person wrote: "C'mon, if you're going to have battlefield-level violence and nudity you could at least give us a proper Cavill sex scene".
